Festival Day October 14
is coming fast!
ARE
YOU READY?
Have you
marked your calendars? Our Festival raises much needed funds for our
Meeting. As a participant in our Meeting community, you can help with
the Festival in many ways. But because we don’t have that many
people in our Meeting, everyone needs to help in several and pull
together to make this Festival the best ever.
You, the volunteers of our
Festival, are what make it successful. Without people to grill hot
dogs and sell food, sell plants, help with the kids activities, and
work in the Friends Mercantile, there wouldn’t be a Festival. Plus,
we need folks to help us set up the Friends Mercantile from Oct. 4 to
9, 9:30 AM to 4 PM and to clean up after 4 P.M. on the day of the
Festival, as well as the next day.

THE
FRIENDS MERCANTILE NEEDS GOODS TO SELL
Don’t wait until the last minute. Look through
your attic, garage or basement and donate your unwanted items to the
Friends Mercantile. As
in past years, we’ll be checking items to make sure they’re good to
sell. We’ve discovered the items in good condition not only sell
better, but we can charge more, thus keeping our profit up. So please
select carefully. All donated items MUST
be clean and in working order. It’s also important to put Mercantile
2012 on your bag or box. ALL
ITEMS MUST BE GIVEN TO ATTENDANTS
on Sundays after Meeting or by appointment. If
you’re donating books, please pack them in brown bags or boxes and
deposit them in the Schoolhouse outside the library under the bulletin
board..

CRAFT
ARTISANS NEEDED FOR FALL FESTIVAL
Great vendors attract more patrons and more patrons help to make the
entire Festival a success. If you know a craft artisan that you think
would be a great addition to our Festival, please get their contact
information.
QUAKER
BAKERS PLEASE RISE
Fall Festival patrons love the sweets that we sell in our Friendly Café—we’re
the BEST. It’s not too early to begin baking goodies for the Friendly
Café. Muffins, coffee cakes, brownies, cookies–chocolate
chip, oatmeal, whoopie pies, sugar, peanut Butter, snickerdoodles,
decorated cutouts–and Festival Fudge.
Bake and freeze for the Festival. Don’t forget those delicious 9-inch
pumpkin and apple pies and
small cakes. And
have the kids make plain or caramel popcorn and chocolate-dipped
pretzels and package them in zip-lock bags. Package
easy-to-eat items individually. For delicious Friendly Cafe Recipes,

WHAT
DO YOU HAVE FOR OUR SILENT AUCTION?
Consider donating new or fine unique items like antiques or collectibles
for our silent auction. Special interest theme baskets (spa, sewing,
reading, etc.), new books, art work, new small appliances, small
furniture, quilts, new linens in packaging, vintage clothing, etc.
Smaller items are easier to manage.
